Nutrition for Headache (non vascular)

Dietary Principles:

 

*  Short fasts are recommended to rid the body of toxins (2 to 3 juice   fasts)

 

Therapeutic Foods:

 

Chrysanthemum flowers, mint, green onions, ginger, oyster shells, buckwheat, pearl barley, carrots, prunes, and celery

 

Fresh Juices:  (Try each one until you find a juice that benefits you.)

 

Carrot, celery, spinach, and parsley

Carrot and spinach

Carrot, beet, and cucumber

Celery

 

Also Try These:

 

If headache is on the left side, squirt carrot juice into the left nostril; if on right side, squirt into right nostril; if both sides are affected, do both.

 

Lemon juice and 1/2 Tbsp. baking soda mixed in a glass of water

 

For an afternoon or evening headache: Increase potassium-rich foods or season food with sea salt

 

Foods and Beverages to Avoid:

 

Spicy or fried foods, chocolate, alcohol, coffee, and teas or colas that contain caffeine

 

Specific Supplements:

 

Vitamin B-complex - 150 mg. a day

 

Vitamin C - 1 gram a day

 

Vitamin E - 800 I.U. a day (Start at 200 I.U. and increase to 800 I.U. over a 4 week period.)

 

Calcium - 1600 mg. a day

 

Magnesium - 900 mg. a day

 

Niacin - 500 mg. a day (Flushing of the face is a normal reaction and will decrease over time.)

 

Vitamin B6 - 100 mg. 2 x day
