Nutrition for Hiatal Hernia Dietary Principles:
* Eat small meals frequently throughout day, increase foods rich in Vitamin A, such as yellow vegetables.
* Do not go to sleep for at least 2 hours after eating. (It's best to eat your heaviest meal before 5 p.m.)
* Sleep in a reclining position. (Simple Technique: Lie down on your back and place a large heavy book on your stomach, then take full deep breaths in and out. Do this for 15 minutes a day.)
* This is a mechanical problem.
Foods to Avoid:
Meat, alcohol, hot sauces, spicy, fried, fatty, or salty foods, coffee, teas or cola that contain caffeine, sugar and sweets
Fresh Juices: (Try each one until you find a juice that benefits you.)
Carrot and spinach Carrot, beet, and cucumber Carrot and parsley Carrot, celery, and parsley Raw potato juice (before breakfast)
Specific Supplements:
HCL - Begin with 5 grains, then slowly increase to tolerance.
Essential fatty acids - Take as directed.
Glycyrrhizic acid (Licorice) - Take as directed.
Choline - 25 mg. a day
PABA - 2 grams a day
Lecithin - 6 caps a day
B12 - Take this if you use cimetidine (Tagamet), because Tagamet reduces B12 absorption.
