Nutrition for Vericose Veins

Dietary Principles:

 

*  Maintain a low sugar, low sodium, low cholesterol, low fat diet.

 

*  Maintain a high complex carbohydrate, high fiber diet.

 

*  Limit protein to 12% to 15% of your total calories.

 

*  Go on a vegetarian cleansing diet or short fasts.

 

*  Increase cellulose and semi-cellulose foods in diet.

 

Therapeutic Foods:

 

Psyllium seed, flax seed, pectin, guar gum, oat bran, barley, bran, eggplant, cabbage, blackberries, blueberries, raspberries, and cherries

 

Fresh Juices: (Try each one until you find a juice that benefits you.)

 

Carrot, celery, spinach, and parsley

Carrot and spinach

Carrot, beet, and cucumber

 

Foods to Avoid:

 

Meat, hot sauces, spicy, fried, fatty, salty, processed and refined foods; milk and other dairy products, sugar and sweets, coffee, teas and colas containing caffeine, and alcohol

 

Specific Supplements:

 

Vitamin B-complex - 150 mg. a day

 

Vitamin C - 3 to 5 grams a day

 

Bioflavinoids - 3 to 5 grams a day

 

Rutin - Take as directed.

 

Collinsonia - Take as directed.
